Sometimes a yard just needs one well-placed upgrade to pull everything together. That's exactly what happened here. The front of this home was fine - but it lacked definition. Nothing was tying the house to the lawn. So we got to work building out a proper landscape bed that would frame the space and give it some real structure.
We used decorative rock as the primary ground cover, which is a smart low-maintenance choice. No mulch to refresh every year, no constant weeding, and it holds up well through heavy rain. The curved edging along the driveway and lawn line gives the whole bed a clean, intentional shape - nothing looks like it just happened by accident.
The plant selection keeps things simple and seasonal. A mix of heuchera and hostas adds color and texture without being high-maintenance. Boulders are placed throughout the bed to break things up and give it a grounded, natural feel. It's the kind of landscaping that looks put-together without trying too hard.
What we really like about this one is how much cleaner the home looks as a result. The bed creates a clear boundary between the lawn and the foundation, and that definition alone changes how the entire front yard reads. It's a detail a lot of homeowners overlook - until they see the difference.
This is the kind of work we enjoy most. No massive overhaul, no complicated project - just a thoughtful landscape bed that makes a real impact. If the front of your home is feeling a little rough around the edges, this is one of the simplest ways to clean it up.
